Melissa Jankowski, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Forensic assessment requires the knowledge and flexibility to apply core clinical skills within a complex legal, political, and social context. I built a strong foundation of these skills through numerous forensic and correctional experiences during my graduate training. I completed my predoctoral internship through the Clinical Forensic track with the UNC School of Medicine in conjunction with the Federal Correctional Complex in Butner, NC. I have conducted pre- and post-trial evaluations, led competency restoration groups, and participated in internal risk panels for civil commitment and medication. I have testified in state and Federal courts and completed my postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology through the University of Maine and the State Forensic Service.
Currently, I work for the Maine State Forensic Service as the Juvenile Court Program Coordinator. I conduct forensic evaluations with adults and juveniles, represent our service in mental health docket calls in multiple counties, and provide consultation to our contract forensic examiners. Additionally, I conduct forensic evaluations for the state of Oregon with Lithia Forensics and Consulting.
